Did you know that if you use Chrome as your browser, you can add an extension that will help you find books in your local library? Well, if you didn’t, now you do!
Naturally, any library patron can go to their library’s website and find books in the catalog, but this extension takes it one step further. If you are looking for a book title on Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes and Noble, AR BookFinder, or Google Books, this extension will tell you if that title is already in your library! How cool is that?! If it is in their catalog, you can click on the ‘Borrow’ button which will take you directly to your library’s catalog page where you can reserve the book for pick-up. If it’s not available in your library, or if you would just rather buy a copy, then you can do that too. It’s the best of both worlds.
An extension is apparently being developed for Firefox users, too, so keep an eye out.
More information can be found here: https://www.libraryextension.com/
Enjoy!
