The directory is compiled and maintained by the Connecticut Center for the Book, a state affiliate of the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress, and is organized to focus attention on the vital role of books and reading in our lives. The Center promotes the past, current, and future works of Connecticut authors; the literary heritage of the state; and encourages reading for pleasure by Connecticut residents of all ages.
Authors recommended for inclusion in the collection who satisfy one, but not all criteria, will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Connecticut Center for the Book.
Self-published books that have been reviewed by professional literature journals (i.e. Publisher’s Weekly, Library Journal, etc.) are eligible for consideration.
* Contributors to anthologies must have additional works published under their own name.
Click here to Request InclusionAs an affiliate of the Library of Congress we feel it is important that authors represented in the Connecticut Center for the Book author directory must have books available to the public and have at least one book listed in the Library of Congress catalog. (Check here to see if your book is included.)
Information about how to be included in the Library of Congress catalog may be found here.
