Karen E. Olson is the author of the Annie Seymour, Tattoo Shop, and Modern Tudor mystery series and the Black Hat thrillers. She won the Sara Ann Freed Memorial Award for Sacred Cows and was a Shamus finalist for Shot Girl. She is a member of Mystery Writers of America and Sisters in Crime. Karen was a longtime editor, both in newspapers and at Yale. She and her husband live just outside New Haven.
