Born and raised in Greater Hartford and educated at the University of Connecticut (BA) and at Trinity College (MA) in Connecticut, Marilyn Johnston is the author of two full collections of poetry, Silk Fist Songs (Antrim House) and Weight of the Angel (Antrim House) as well as a chapbook, Against Disappearance (Redgreene Press, Pittsburgh). She has published work in numerous literary journals, including South Carolina Review, Worcester Review and Poet Lore. She works for the Bloomfield Libraries where she helped found and run a long-standing poetry reading series for Connecticut poets.
