David Fitzpatrick was raised in Guilford, attended Guilford High School, graduated Skidmore College in 1988, and then got his MFA Degree from Fairfield University in 2011. His Harper Collins-William Morrow published memoir came out in 2012 Sharp: My Story of Madness, Cutting, and How I Reclaimed My Life. David’s wife, Amy, who is a technical writer for a Real Estate investment firm in Hartford, travels with David around New England and addresses colleges, psychiatric hospitals, church groups, and mental health conferences, speaking on the topic of resilience, hope, faith and the power of the broken. He’s currently at work on a novel, and the couple live in Middlefield with two psychotic cats.
