  • Dawn Leger, Ph.D. is a fiction writer, editor, and grants administrator living in central Connecticut. She is the author of two novels, In Flight and Eagle Scouting, and a mystery that is the first of a series featuring Prof. Cassie Thornton. In the opening scene of Embracing the Fool (Lefora Publishing, 2017), Cassie discovers the body of the poet Neville Carstairs murdered in his Greenwich Village apartment. She becomes entangled in the search for suspects and is targeted by both the police and the killer for meddling in the investigation. Over the course of the series, Cassie’s hidden past and connections to the Gypsy world are slowly revealed. The books are fast-paced and fun, and Cassie is sassy and smart – a bit like Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum, but with a doctoral degree and a shady past. Cassie’s on-again, off-again romance with Detective Ty Friday adds some spice to the books, which have readers clamoring for more.

Dr. Leger is also the editor of several textbooks in ergonomics and biomechanics, most recently the fourth edition of “Fundamentals of Biomechanics,” published in January 2017 by Springer-Verlag. She is the Grants Administrator for the City of Bristol and resides there with her two cats, Simon and Schuster.
