Stanley-Whitman House is thrilled to welcome renowned author David Weinberg for a captivating book talk and signing of his latest work, “Scrooge’s Folly, Saving Jacob Marley.” This engaging event is complimentary and serves as a continuation of the narrative introduced in Weinberg’s celebrated novel, which has been a topic of discussion for its inventive retake on the classic characters of Dickens’ lore.
David Weinberg’s novel breathes new life into Ebenezer Scrooge and Jacob Marley, reimagining them not just as characters in “A Christmas Carol,” but as vibrant figures embroiled in a tale of historical fiction, supernatural intrigue, and unexpected romance. In a delightful twist, the plot weaves into the life of Andrea Smilow, a playwright tasked with saving a theater, who is unexpectedly visited by Marley’s ghost. Together with Scrooge and a powerful witch, they embark on a journey that is as heartwarming as it is magical.
At this special event, Weinberg will share behind-the-scenes stories of the novel’s creation, offering attendees a deeper understanding of his characters and the unique spin he has put on the age-old tale. He will delve into the intersections of past and present within the novel, highlighting the themes of redemption and love that are woven throughout the narrative.
Pre-registration is encouraged to ensure a personalized and interactive experience for all.
